Meet at 0845 for a 9am rideaway from Godalming Station. Uncertain of route at the moment because of the weather but either a ride up in Winterfold (3.5-4hrs) exploring some of the MTB singletrack up there or a blast around the well draining commons if wet (2.5-3hrs)

    The Details:

Meeting Place: Godalming railway station/Care for Health
Timing: Meet 0845 for 0900 departure
Duration: Medium or Long (2.5-4 hours)
    Difficulty: Blue/Red Difficult
Ascent: Plenty on the red, not so much on the blue.
Tea Stop: None. Bring enough food and drink for the ride and way home
Average Speed/Pace Style: Brisk social pace if the group can manage
    Distance: Approx 20/27 miles
Route: Winterfold (Peaslake) or The Surrey Hills east commons
    Ride Organiser: Mark Reynolds

This is aimed at all levels of rider who ride fairly regularly and are not novice. If you are uncertain if this is for you then call me on 07765 402958

thanks to all 8 of you that turned up and thanks to nigel for uploading the thurs night winterfold ride that we followed!

i heard from neil who says he's feeling OK now. It was a bit worrying but at least he was stationary at the time and not bombing down that final descent into peaslake!

    Get well soon Neil!

Thanks for leading a great ride, Mark. Is the route on the site or could you mail it? Not been round that way much and it was rather nice!

    Hi Mark

I did part of that route with my wife on Sunday morning, She only rides out with me once or twice a year, she enjoyed the run down by the fence best.
I must of missed you guys by minuets.

we were at the top of the 'peaslake singletrack' section (with the tree crossing) for about 30 mins waiting for an ambulance after one of the guys blacked out (thankfully whilst stationary) so we must have come close to seeing you at that point.

if you mean the run down by the barbed wire fence high up on the bank - yes that is a bit nicer than the alternative below! Going to keep an eye out for that instead of climbing below the next time i'm there....

Chris - look for the link on the thurs night thread (Garmin Connect)

Just a quick thanks to Mark and the group, as my first ride out with you guys I was a bit apprehensive my pace wasn't going to be up to scratch but I think it worked out ok and was a thoroughly enjoyable morning. Also good to hear that Neil is ok. I hope to join another Sunday ride in a couple of weeks (in Rome this weekend) then join up with the club. I've just been out for another 22 miles tonight so I've obviously got the bug (though need some decent off road lights!)

    cheers,

    Andrew.

Did you have a look at the switch backs section on winterfold as I hear the they have grubbed up, I haven't been up there for a few weeks.
