Last minute I know, but it's been a mental week!

I'm still riding tomorrow for ~4 hours (although it ended up as 5 last time around) I've not had a chance to plan anything som it'll either be an out and back up towards Farnborough, or a loop out round the back of Haslemere. Both will start from Godalming Station.

    The Details:

    Meeting Place: Godalming railway station
Timing: Meet 0845 for 0900 departure
    Duration: Mini-epic - 4-5 hours
    Difficulty: Red/Difficult
    Ascent: Yes, quite a lot
Tea Stop: NONE. Bring enough food and drink for 4+ hours continuous riding
Average Speed/Pace Style: Endurance race pace (not full out but not hanging around either)
    Distance: Approx 40+ miles
Route: Probably towards Farnborough via Devils Punch Bowl and Farnham
    Ride Organiser: Lee Irvine

This is not a beginner ride. It will be faster and longer, and therefore tougher, than a Sunday ride.
"Rolling catch-ups" instead of stop-and-wait/chat will be the order of the day.
On saying all that though, if you're up for a big'un on Saturday morning: I'll see you at the station.

    VCGH MTB KEYS

The keys below are relative to the types of ride that the club does and distances covered within the duration will be affected by the terrain, ascent, weather and ability of the group.

    DURATION KEY:
Short - Up to 2 hours
    Medium - 2-3 hours
    Long - 3-4 hours
    Mini-epic - 4-5 hours
    Epic - 5+ hours

    DIFFICULTY KEY
Green/Easy - Rides with very low risk, but may include short, more difficult sections. Shallow climbs and descents.
Blue/Moderate - Some loose surfaces, ruts, potholes and or tree roots. Shallow or moderate climbs, possibly including short sections of steeper climbs.
Red/Difficult - Unavoidable berms, boardwalks, large stones, moderate steps and drop offs. Cambers, water crossings and ''North Shore'' may be present. A wide range of steeper, tougher climbs and descents of a challenging nature.
Black/Severe - Unavoidable obstacles with large steps and drop-offs. There will be prolonged steep, loose and rocky surfaces. Some man made structures will be included. Can include exposed open hill sections. Any rideable or usable gradient, including steep loose, and rocky descents.

    Lee

Thanks for leading yesterday and nursing Graham and me around. Stats from my Garmin 53 miles, average 9.1 mph including all food stops, puncture breaks, etc. - about 9 of those miles too and from Shalford by road. Total ascent 3,800 ft. Metric about 85 km, average 14.7 mph - about 14 of those Shalford. Total ascent 1,158 m.

Legs sore! But very satisfying to have pushed on further than before.

Yep, not bad for a Saturday morning ;o)

Thanks for the company, next time I'll try and figure out a better destination/loop instead of the out and back approach.

Hopefuly Graham made it home before his crank fell off too!

    Cheers
