    WANTED. 1inch steerer

Post  dazmonkey on Thu Apr 23, 2009 12:03 pm

    Hi there,

I'm new to road biking and have just bought a 2nd hand year 2000 edition Trek 1000 racing bike off ebay. Unfortunately, I need to replace the front forks and they are more difficult to find than I had tought. I therefore wondered if anyone has a spare set of appropriate forks laying around in their garage from an upgrade or something sililar. I am told by the bike shop at Smithbrook Kilns in Cranleigh (very helpful man there!) that I need forks for 700c wheels with a 1 inch threadless Ahead steerer (around 250mm length although i think i'll get away with 200mm). I am only looking for a entry level set to get me going more than anything else.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks.
